Daniel Monks is an actor, filmmaker & dancer.
He was nominated for Best Actor at the 2016 WA Screen Awards, and was selected for Screen NSW’s inaugural Screenability program in 2017. In 2015, he received the Arts & Fashion Award at the NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards, and he was awarded the Young Filmmaker of the Year at the WA Screen Awards in 2014.
Pulse is his first feature film, which he wrote & edited, and was the lead actor & one of the key producers. His short films have screened around the world at more than 40 film festivals, including three at Palm Springs International ShortFest.
He is a graduate of AFTRS, & PAC Screen Workshops where he received the award for Consistent Excellence. He has trained as an actor with Elizabeth, Larry Moss, Jeneffa Soldatic, Benjamin Mathews & Lynette Sheldon, and has performed frequently on stage, including at the Old Fitz Theatre & Blood Moon Theatre. As a professional dancer, he has worked extensively with Murmuration Dance Theatre and The Farm. In 2016, he became an Ambassador for Starlight Children’s Foundation.
